Job Description

As compassionate professionals, Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) at Helios Care provide skilled nursing care to patients facing serious, life-limiting illnesses while working collaboratively with the patient's provider and the hospice interdisciplinary team. In this flexible per diem role, the RN supports comfort, dignity, and quality of life through compassionate, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include providing skilled nursing services; educating families and caregivers on symptom recognition, symptom management, and what to expect throughout the care journey; while offering emotional and practical support to both patients and their loved ones. Helios Care Per Diem RNs have meaningful one-on-one time with patients, delivering exceptional care and creating a lasting positive impact for those they serve.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. One to two years of recent acute care experience in an institutional setting. Current professional licensure in New York State, and valid driver's license with driving record which meets standards outlined in
Policy:
Qualifications of Hospice Personnel. Bachelor's degree, with one year of home health care experience. Registered nurses with less than a Bachelors degree will be considered based on previous experience. Management experience not required but supervisory skills preferred. Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills, nursing skills per competency checklist. Prolonged or considerable walking or standing. Able to lift, position and/or transfer patients. Able to lift supplies and equipment. Considerable reaching stooping, bending, kneeling and/or crouching.
