OR Registered Nurse

This opportunity focuses on utilizing your Operating Room (OR) RN skills within a contract role in an established medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Circulate and/or scrub on a variety of surgical procedures, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists. Uphold strict aseptic technique, infection control standards, and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are available and properly maintained. Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and deliver patient-centered care throughout all operative phases. Anticipate surgeon and patient needs, providing immediate response to surgical team requests and patient changes. Maintain accurate documentation of intraoperative activities, medications administered, and patient responses. Provide patient advocacy, emotional support, and education to patients and their families throughout the surgical experience. Participate in post-procedure debriefing and contribute to continuous process improvement efforts.

Desired Qualifications:

Active and unencumbered RN license for the state of New York. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred. Demonstrated experience in an Operating Room or perioperative setting. Proficiency with circulating and/or scrubbing roles across general surgery and specialty procedures. Excellent critical thinking, patient assessment, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team environment and adapt to changing patient or procedure needs.
