Job Description

Top Long Island based Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to serve as their Magnet Program Director to provide leadership and direction to the Nursing Department and coordinate the integration of the Magnet Programs expectations into the nursing and organizational infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and facilitate shared governance and professional advancement programs and consult on professional practice activities across the enterprise. Coordinate, track, and maintain electronic repository of exemplary practice examples, sources of evidence and empirical outcomes. Promote the professional image of nursing, ensuring collaboration across all departments, the delivery of high-quality clinical care, promotion of a relationship-based care models, and continued alignment between the department of nursing and organization's mission and vision. Conduct data analysis and writing the Magnet document, interim reporting, and will coordinate Magnet site visits. Serves as a mentor and coach for nursing shared governance councils Facilitates nursing leadership understanding and integration of professional and regulatory standards, including ANCC Magnet standards into nursing practice. Works collaboratively with the Directors of Nursing to ensure high quality clinical care, as well as the coordination and submission of nursing data submission requirements, such as NDNQI. Utilizes American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation criteria to assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing practice activities which qualify as exemplary practice examples Analyzes problems, issues and opportunities. Systematically and logically able to make decisions that support the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization. Assess, plan, implement, evaluate nursing excellence standards and is data driven. Develops and implements projects using a systematic approach to translate work plans into actionable components and measurable outcomes. Supports, Enhances and develops departmental programs with actionable and measurable outcomes. The programs will support the strategic goals of the organization and integrate Magnet standards unit the nursing infrastructure Performs Magnet gap analysis and proposes action plans for identified gaps. Active engagement with the staff as a leader in the organization Tracks program data and creates reports that support planning, monitoring of program activities and financials, and quality and improvement initiatives. Analyzes initial findings, highlights trends and recommends actions based on findings. Manage NDNQI and ANCC databases.
Qualifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse 5 + years clinical leadership experience including a magnet facility A strong background in hospital Quality or Risk Management within a Magnet Hospital At minimum of 2 years of experience providing assist with Magnet designation or re-designation #JoshA Benefits information Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and
