Your Role at
BHSN:
As a Registered Nurse , you will be responsible for providing health screenings, coordinating health-related referrals, and working in close collaboration with prescribers and interdisciplinary staff to support client care.
Work Schedules available:
Mon-Fri, 8:00am to 4:00pm 4 10 hour shift with days 7:30am to 5:30pm What s in it for you? Generous time off (with no wait time for accruals) Health, vision, and dental coverage (at a low-cost to you) Retirement savings plans Opportunities for advancement and growth within BHSN Mentorship and training programs Minimum 10 paid BHSN holidays off annually Working within our community, making a real impact, & working alongside passionate colleagues What your day might look like: Dispenses medication as prescribed by the psychiatrist/nurse practitioner Administers injectable medication per prescriber s order Provides health monitoring and PROS Health Assessments Participates in the development, writing and execution of the treatment plan Reviews health screening and makes appropriate recommendations Educates recipients/staff regarding pertinent medical issues/medication Ensures the security and inventory of all medications and nursing supplies Prints prescriber schedules and various reports for prescribers as needed Fulfills prior authorization requests for medications Provides crisis intervention services as needed, including offsite in the community Forwards reports, labs, notes to PCPs as requested Processes incoming triage calls and prepare for prescriber s review Utilizes electronic health record system for all patient documentation Assists with orientation of new nursing staff Conducts urine drug screenings in accordance with agency policies Initiates tobacco cessation interventions when indicated Attends department meetings and trainings as required Performs other duties as assigned within context of job description
Required Skills & Qualifications:
NYS Department of Education Registered Professional Nurse CPR-certified Experience providing direct clinical service to the population served by the assigned clinical program is strongly preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage time effectively as well as to organize tasks Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team until collaborate across disciplines and programs Broad clinical knowledge of psychiatric disorders, and psychiatric diagnosis Extensive knowledge with PC applications and electronic medical records strongly preferred Valid NYS driver s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travel
