Job Description

Category Nursing - RN - CVOR Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic clinical setting as a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering high-quality nursing expertise to surgical patients undergoing a wide range of cardiac and vascular procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active and unencumbered RN license Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred) Demonstrated recent experience in a CVOR setting, including proficiency with cardiovascular surgical techniques and protocols Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary surgical and perioperative team Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and patient safety Familiarity with electronic medical records and operating room documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide continuous nursing care for pre-, intra-, and post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients Circulate and/or scrub in a variety of open-heart surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, and vascular interventions Monitor patient vitals, hemodynamics, and surgical progress, anticipating needs of surgeons and anesthesiologists Maintain aseptic technique and assist with handling surgical instruments and supplies Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as directed, ensuring all protocols are followed Document all patient interactions, interventions, and perioperative events accurately and timely Educate patients and families regarding procedures, expected outcomes, and post-surgical care Uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety throughout the OR If you are a skilled Registered Nurse with proven CVOR experience and a passion for outstanding patient care, this contract position presents an excellent opportunity to elevate your practice.
