1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Step Down position requiring ACLS, strong cardiac and IV skills, and a current NY RN license. Details Med/Surg Step Down unit within a hospital setting Cardiac drip management, EKG strip interpretation, and all types of wound care are core components of the role Strong IV skills required for day-to-day patient care Floating to Med/Surg is required Every other weekend and holiday coverage required Requirements Active NY RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to start Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Step Down or similar experience required Proficiency with IV insertion and management, cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and wound care required Travel nursing experience preferred Additional Information An additional 8 hours of CEUs must be completed as part of facility orientation Two supervisor references are required for consideration — one from within the past year and one from within the past two years, each from someone who can speak to clinical skills and work ethic A skills checklist for the Med/Surg Tele specialty completed within the past year is required for consideration
