Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as a Registered Nurse to a rewarding school-based assignment, supporting elementary students during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This contract opportunity offers a focused, consistent schedule—work from 8 AM to 11 AM each weekday—supporting young learners in a welcoming educational environment. Apply your clinical knowledge to ensure student health and safety, while collaborating with educational staff at one elementary school location. Your skills will contribute to a positive school community and help create an environment dedicated to learning and well-being.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current RN license in New York State Certification as a School Nurse (CSN) preferred Prior experience as a legal nurse or in school health services highly valued Current CPR/BLS certification Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities Experience supporting young children in a clinical or educational setting
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily nursing care and respond to student health needs Administer medications and manage care for children with acute and chronic conditions Maintain accurate, confidential health records and documentation in compliance with regulations Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families regarding student health matters Assist with health screenings and provide basic first aid as needed Support student participation by monitoring for allergy or health-related concerns during the program
