3 Shifts Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide emergency nursing care within a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department at a large academic medical center. The ideal candidate will possess strong pediatric emergency nursing experience, formal triage training, and the ability to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nursing program. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher. Current New York State RN License. Current BLS Certification. Current TNCC or TCRN Certification. Minimum two (2) years of recent Pediatric Emergency Department experience within the last two years. Minimum two (2) years of acute care nursing experience in a comparable facility. Majority of emergency nursing experience must be in a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department. Formal Pediatric Triage Training required. Strong pediatric emergency assessment and critical-thinking skills. Experience managing pediatric medical emergencies and trauma patients. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Level 1 Trauma Center experience. Level 2 Trauma Center experience. EPIC Electronic Medical Record experience. Experience in large academic medical centers. Adult Emergency Department experience in addition to Pediatric ED experience. Responsibilities Provide emergency nursing care to pediatric patients with a wide range of medical and traumatic conditions. Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity. Utilize formal triage training to assess and categorize incoming patients. Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical changes. Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions. Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and emergency care protocols. Deliver compassionate, family-centered care during emergency situations.
