Registered Nurse (RN) - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Neonatology (NICU) - 740 Syracuse, NY Clinical Full-Time, Evenings/Nights, 7:00pm-7:30am, 11:00pm-7:30am M-F rotating weekends & holidays Req # 32455 Posted 06/16/2026 Since 1887, Crouse Health has been a leading healthcare provider in Central New York. Crouse's 57-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care to high risk infants/neonates. The NICU is the only level 4 in the region, covering a 14-county area in Central New York.
Pay Range:
$39.78 - $51.50/hour. $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs, $5,000 sign-on bonus for newly graduated RNs! For candidates that are interested in the NICU- Next Academy will start Fall 2026. Schedule will be (2) 8hr and (2) 12 hour schedule. Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Responsibilities:
Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model. Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care. Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care. Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate. Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay. Utilizes and engages in evidence based practice to deliver quality patient care. Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem solving situations. Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Requirements:
Must have a current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program required. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred. For RNs licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelor's of Nursing Degree will be required within 8 years of the date the license was obtained. If hired as a Graduate Nurse, a NYS limited licensure work permit must be obtained within ninety (90) days of graduation and the GN must successfully pass the NCLEX exam within 120 days of the beginning of employment to obtain the required professional nursing licensure with New York State. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification required after orientation has been completed.
