NICU Location:
New York, NY 10037Schedule:
37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week)Coverage Area:
Associate DON support for General Pediatrics, PICU, and NICU Job Summary The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for leading clinical operations and driving improvements in patient care quality and staff performance across Pediatric services, including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) . This role provides leadership oversight, collaborates with nurse managers to evaluate unit performance, and supports the implementation of corrective actions. The Nurse Supervisor also develops and maintains systems for medication error tracking, staff documentation, and clinical performance monitoring in a dynamic hospital environment. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement programs to enhance pediatric patient care and staff performance Monitor patient care quality and operational performance across Pediatrics, PICU, and NICU units Collaborate with nurse managers to assess workflow efficiency and regulatory compliance Communicate and assist with the implementation of corrective action plans Develop and maintain systems for: Medication error tracking Staff counseling documentation Performance monitoring and reporting Provide leadership support across pediatric and critical care units Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and nursing regulations Support clinical operations in both teaching and community hospital settings Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program Experience Minimum 7 years of nursing experience At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role Licensure & Certifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) License Primary Source Verification through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) Experience in: PediatricsPICU NICU
