Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Travel Provide skilled nursing care in an intermediate coronary care/stepdown unit, specializing in cardiac and multi-system patient care. This travel RN opportunity offers a 13-week contract in Canfield, OH, focusing on patients requiring telemetry monitoring and complex cardiac-drug management in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include performing thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications safely, and interpreting telemetry strips. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient treatment, advocate for patient needs, and support families through critical healthcare situations. The unit cares primarily for cardiac patients, including those with atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and post-cardiac procedures, along with select respiratory, stroke, renal, and ICU transfer cases.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current RN license with active registration in a compact state or Ohio. Valid BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke certification preferred. Minimum 1 year RN experience, including at least 6 months in acute care, preferably cardio/vascular or stepdown. Dysrhythmia exam required prior to start (study guide provided). Strong clinical skills in telemetry interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care nursing. Ability to manage drips such as heparin, amiodarone, cardizem, and insulin. Competence with complex wound care, central lines, chest tubes, and multiple drains. Familiarity with
EPIC EHR
preferred.
