Job Description

UH Geauga Medical Center serves residents of Geauga County and beyond, offering high-quality care and a Level 3 trauma center. Description The Nursing As sistant II (NA II) is an entry-level position specifically designed for current nursing students aiming to enrich their preparation for a nursing career. Under the guidance of an experienced nurse, you will acquire valuable hands-on experience by providing safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status. The role is designed to build upon the experience gained in the classroom and during clinical rotations.
Responsibilities include:
Direct patient care delivery (includes ADLs, hygiene measures, select treatments, patient/family education, discharge preparation) Communication and documentation of interventions and observations Participation in quality improvement process Involved in learning and self-improvement Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers Current NA II opportunities exist across UH Geauga Medical Center including: Emergency Services Float Pool Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Step Down General Acute Care (Medical/Surgical)
Experience/Knowledge :
Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Successful completion of a Nursing Fundamentals course required .
Special Skills, Equipment :
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies ( i.e. stethoscope, thermometers, glucometers, and electronic monitoring devices). Excellent communication skills.
Education:
Current enrollment in an accredited A.D.N. nursing program required . Current enrollment in a BSN nursing program preferred. In addition to completing the online application form, candidates should upload their unofficial transcripts showing current enrollment in a nursing program. If you do not have an unofficial transcript readily available, you may request one from your academic institution's student portal or registrar's office.
