Job Description

Weekender Program - Salary and Schedule Overview Individuals hired for a Weekender position are required to work two (2) 12-hour shifts between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday. In return for this commitment, Weekenders will be compensated at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for these shifts. Individuals in Weekender roles qualify for full-time medical and dental benefits, whereas eligibility for all other benefits is at part-time levels. A Brief Overview The Interventional Radiology Department at UH Cleveland Medical Center is a highly advanced, complex service offering a broad spectrum of state-of-the-art, image-guided procedures. Our department provides comprehensive clinical experience in both vascular and non-vascular interventions, including emergent and critical care cases, trauma, stroke intervention, oncology, hemorrhage control, and hybrid procedures. Interventional Radiology Registered Nurses deliver direct patient care and provide continuous monitoring throughout procedures. As a tertiary referral center for complex IR cases, UH Cleveland Medical Center offers exceptional opportunities for professional growth through exposure to advanced interventions, multidisciplinary collaboration, a comprehensive stroke center, Level I trauma services, and a consistently high-acuity patient population. The nurse in this role will be helping the MRI department and Interventional Radiology department with cases scheduled over the weekend - mostly emergencies. What You Will Do Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship-based nursing care. Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations. Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing. Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.
Shift:
This nurse will work 7am-7:30pm Saturday and Sunday and will take call Saturday or Sunday. Call pay is $3/hour and time and a half if you are called in. You must be to the hospital within 40 minutes of page. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education Other Accredited Program:
Diploma in Nursing or (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required) (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred) (MN) Master in Nursing (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Preference given to candidates with experience in emergent and time-sensitive Interventional Radiology procedures and the ability to perform effectively in high-acuity environments, including ICU, Emergency Department, and trauma settings. Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency) Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies ( ie . stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
