Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ICU Job Type Contract Make a direct impact in a 19-bed Neurosurgical ICU, providing specialized care for patients with acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures, and complex post-surgical needs. This dynamic unit requires registered nurses adept in monitoring invasive intracranial pressures, conducting frequent neurological checks, managing sophisticated hemodynamic parameters, and coordinating with imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and Angio.
Schedule/Hours:
Straight Weekend Block:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night shifts
Key Qualifications:
RN with current, active license Demonstrated Neuro ICU nursing experience required Proficient in caring for patients requiring invasive ICP monitoring, frequent neuro assessments, and advanced hemodynamic support Experienced in acute neurosurgical and neurological patient management Comfortable working with a 2-3:1 patient assignment in a high-acuity setting Willingness and flexibility to float to other ICU or step-down units as needed Strong critical thinking, time management, and collaborative communication skills
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver advanced nursing care to neurosurgical ICU patients with varying acuity Perform and interpret neurological checks with frequency and accuracy Monitor, document, and respond to changes in patient hemodynamic and neurological status Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced monitoring equipment Collaborate closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and multidisciplinary teams Participate actively in routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Respond swiftly to emergencies and implement life-saving interventions as required Provide compassionate support to patients and their families This contract opportunity offers the chance to develop expertise with a diverse range of neurocritical cases in a supportive, clinically advanced environment.
