Job Description
Job Overview The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, develop and direct the overall operation of our Reimbursement Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and or other staff as needed. Responsibilities Participate in the admission process of prospective residents in terms of their nursing needs and appropriate placement Determine potential Resource Utilization Groups (RUGs) Review all applications for admission, communicate results of assessment to the Admission Coordinator Complete and assure the accuracy of the MDS process for all residents, initiate and complete admission care plan Maintain current working knowledge of Medicare criteria, serving as a resource for nursing staff and communicate changes in regulations Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affect Medicaid reimbursement Facilitate problem-solving for complicated admissions Monitor Medicare assessment schedules and nursing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission Weekly UR meetings/Risk meetings a scheduled ICD 10 coding Managed care updates as needed Staff Inservice as needed for accurate ADL/Nursing documentation Requirements Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a health care facility Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
