PRN Registered Nurse (RN) PACU / OR

Lorain Surgery Center - Lorain, OH Lorain Surgery Center is a dedicated ambulatory surgery center specializing in outpatient pain management procedures. We are currently seeking a dependable and compassionate PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team, providing coverage in both PACU and the Operating Room as needed.

Typical Days:

Wednesdays & Thursdays (based on surgery schedule)

Start Time:

Between 6:30 AM - 7:30

AM Shift Length:

Typically 6-10 hours No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call PRN staff will be scheduled based on staffing needs, including coverage for vacations, call-offs, or increased case volume.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide patient care in both Pre-Op/PACU and Operating Room settings as needed Prepare patients for procedures, including vital signs, chart review, and starting IVs Monitor patients before and after procedures for safety, comfort, and recovery Assist during procedures in the OR while maintaining sterile technique Administer medications and monitor patients receiving conscious sedation Provide patient education and emotional support throughout the surgical experience Ensure accurate, timely, and thorough documentation Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure efficient case flow

Qualifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (or willingness to obtain) Minimum 1 year experience in PACU, OR, Pre-Op, or similar surgical setting preferred Strong IV and clinical assessment skills Ability to adapt between PACU and OR responsibilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
