Job Description
Overview Serenity Now Counseling is seeking a qualified and compassionate individual to fill the role Registered Nurse (RN). As a RN of a alcohol and drug counseling center, you will contribute to the provision of effective substance abuse services within a supportive clinical environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Participates in analyzing and planning coordinated nursing services in an assigned area.
- Assessing clients/residents for health concerns
- Interprets care plans and demonstrates appropriate procedures to licensed vocational nurses and other staff.
- Participates in coordinating total clinic services in the interest of the patient. Maintain weekly or biweekly appointments.
- Group therapy (infectious disease, health and wellness, smoking cessation, etc.)
- Provides for continuity of effective patient care by exchanging information and cooperating with workers of other community health and welfare agencies concerned such as hospitals, schools, and industries.
- Monitor and sign all documentation
- Update shared document and maintain the document as it changes.
- Chart reviews to guarantee that clinical documentation is being completed and that all discharges are completed.
- Obtain blood samples for testing
- Applying the Addiction Severity Index
- Conducting patient assessments
- Identifying a patient's care requirements
- Ensuring patient informed consent
- Carrying out the infection control protocols
- Maintaining nursing supplies, knowledge of the 12-steps, knowledge regarding new drugs and substance abuse, assisting patient's to become independent and meet their personal goals.
- Work closely with other members of the treatment team, including medical professionals, case managers, and support staff.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of professional nursing principles, techniques, basic sciences, and of substance abuse.
- Ability to apply professional nursing principles, techniques, and basic sciences
- Ability to carry out written and oral instructions and to exercise judgment in the application of nursing care.
- Ability to work cooperatively with people and to maintain an objective attitude.
- Ability to exercise tact and initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in the state.
- Proficient with addiction theory, assessment tools, treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to establish rapport with diverse client populations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in clinical documentation and report writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and maintain confidentiality in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
- Capability to use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, which may include administering first aid or handling paperwork.
- Ability to walk, run, or move quickly to respond to emergency situations, and navigate the residential facility safely.
- Ability to lift and carry items occasionally, typically up to 50 pounds.
- Adequate eyesight to observe and respond to patient behavior and to ensure the safe environment within the facility.
- Sufficient hearing to monitor and respond to the needs of residents, including verbal communication and emergency alarms
- Capability to handle stress and emotionally challenging situations, maintaining professionalism in difficult circumstances.
Mandatory for all employees:
- Ensure that the agency is operating within accordance of Ohio
MHAS OPT
Certification standards.- Implement policies and procedures of Serenity Now Counseling and Treatment LLC. And OhioMHAS.
