Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Travel Experience dynamic travel nursing in welcoming Ottawa, OH—a town renowned for its charm, close community, and vibrant Midwest culture. This destination allows you to explore scenic parks, specialty shops, and unique local eateries during your days off, providing a memorable blend of professional enrichment and personal adventure. Ottawa is also an ideal place to expand your nursing resume while connecting with diverse colleagues and leadership teams in a highly collaborative environment. This position on the MS/Tele Ortho Unit cares for orthopedic, post-operative, and select medical patients in a 28-bed unit. You'll have the chance to work with advanced equipment, learn new protocols, and participate in a unique blend of team nursing with RNs and LPNs, all while developing your expertise in post-op ortho, drips, and managing complex drains. Schedule 12-hour PM shifts Every other weekend and every other holiday 13-week travel assignment Key Responsibilities Deliver holistic patient care using the nursing process alongside interdisciplinary teams Administer medications and manage patients on drips (primarily Heparin) Coordinate care transitions and act as a key communicator for patients and their families Monitor and care for surgical drains (Hemovac, JP, True-close), and post-op orthopedic patients Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions and advocate for patient choices Comply with infection control and safety standards Qualifications Unencumbered RN license (or compact eligibility) Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; acute care preferred Proficient in post-op ortho care, surgical drains, and patient mobility Strong communication and patient interaction skills
BLS & ACLS
