Portage Medical Center:
Acute Care & Observation Unit (2 East) Acute Care & Orthopedic (3 East) Stepdown Unit Intensive Care Unit What can I do as a NAII? NA IIs work under the direction of an RN to provide safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status.
Responsibilities include:
Direct patient care delivery, including, but not limited to: ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable) and Restraints Communication and documentation of interventions and observations Participation in quality improvement process Involved in learning and self-improvement Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers - why UH Why choose UH as a Student Nurse? Flexible schedules & orientation Supportive & education focused culture More hands-on practice of clinical & interpersonal skills Build confidence in providing patient care Team-work oriented staff & interdisciplinary teams Exposure to EMR systems & documentation of interventions & observations Learn about your areas of interest Pathway for skill development and career advancement Pathway to RN position post-graduation Education Requirements Enrollment in a Diploma RN, Associate or bachelor's degree of Nursing from an accredited program Successful completion of a Registered Nursing Fundamentals course required Most up-to-date transcripts should be uploaded with application
