Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine individual care needs. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and injection administration. Manage airway care, ventilator support, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during procedures. Document all patient interactions thoroughly using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and case managers to develop and implement personalized care plans across various departments like ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and behavioral health. Assist in diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and basic medical imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable. Provide patient education on health coaching topics such as medication management, nutrition, wound care (including ostomy care), and chronic disease management including diabetes or heart conditions. Requirements Valid RN license in the state of practice with current CPR/BLS certification. Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU/CCU), emergency room or trauma centers (Level I or II Trauma Center experience). Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical documentation standards. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate patient record keeping. Ability to perform complex procedures including suturing, catheterization (urinary or central lines), phlebotomy/venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, and specimen collection. Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to triage effectively in urgent care or emergency settings. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays in settings such as assisted living or memory care is preferred. Knowledge of infection control practices and acute pain management strategies. Additional skills in areas such as dialysis support, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health protocols, or post-acute care are advantageous.
