Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Advance your nursing career as a registered nurse on a dynamic Cardiac Stepdown unit within a renowned Magnet-recognized academic medical center. This travel opportunity provides exposure to complex cardiac patient care in a fast-paced environment—the ideal setting for a dedicated RN eager to build specialized skills and work with experienced professionals at the forefront of cardiovascular care.
Schedule/Hours:
Contract position (travel assignment) Shifts and length of assignment to be discussed during interview
Qualifications and Experience:
Active RN license (unencumbered and eligible for Ohio) Minimum of 1 year recent RN experience in a stepdown or progressive care setting (cardiac experience strongly preferred) BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required) Strong assessment skills and ability to respond to emergent situations Excellent communication and organizational abilities EMR proficiency (Epic experience a plus) Adaptability to quickly changing patient needs and unit demands
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to post-acute cardiac patients requiring close monitoring Perform ongoing assessments, medication administration, and interventions according to care plans Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists Maintain accurate documentation and ensure smooth handoff communications Educate patients and families about procedures, care needs, and post-discharge instructions Adhere to infection control, safety, and privacy standards at all times Contribute to positive patient outcomes and uphold unit standards
