  • Correctional Institution. This would be full time / 40+ hours per week. Registered Nurse

  • Correctional Institution Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated patients in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and correctional healthcare policies.
Conduct medical assessments, triage sick-call requests, and evaluate patient health conditions. Administer prescribed medications, treatments, injections, and immunizations safely and accurately. Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, responses to treatment, and overall progress. Respond promptly to medical emergencies, injuries, and crisis situations within the correctional facility. Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, correctional officers, and healthcare staff to coordinate patient care. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA and institutional regulations. Educate patients on health conditions, medication usage, chronic disease management, and preventive care. Perform intake screenings and health evaluations for newly admitted inmates. Monitor patients with chronic illnesses, mental health conditions, substance withdrawal symptoms, and infectious diseases. Ensure infection control procedures, safety standards, and nursing protocols are consistently followed. Assist with emergency preparedness procedures and participate in institutional drills and training. Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), nursing assistants, or other healthcare support staff when assigned. Maintain professional conduct and effective communication in a secure correctional environment. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and continuing education programs to enhance patient care services. Registered Nurse
