In this vital role, you will provide expert patient care across diverse clinical settings, ensuring the highest standards of safety, comfort, and treatment. Your expertise will support patient recovery, promote health education, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Responsibilities Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and medication management. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient care activities precisely. Assist with complex procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and sterile processing to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Manage acute pain and infectious disease cases with evidence-based interventions while adhering to infection control standards. Provide specialized care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. Support discharge planning and case management efforts to facilitate smooth transitions from hospital to home or long-term care facilities. Skills Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers with trauma medicine expertise. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Skilled in performing laboratory procedures such as specimen collection/processing and phlebotomy with aseptic technique. Experience in specialized areas including cardiology (cardiac catheterization), nephrology (dialysis), ophthalmology (including OCT imaging), hospice & palliative medicine, and post-acute care settings. Ability to handle emergency situations effectively through airway management, basic life support (BLS), ventilator management, and triage protocols. Excellent communication skills for working with children, seniors in memory or assisted living care, and individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
