Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care! In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing services in fast-paced, high-pressure emergency settings across diverse hospital environments. Your expertise will ensure timely, compassionate, and efficient patient care for individuals experiencing acute medical crises. This position offers an exciting opportunity to travel to various healthcare facilities, expand your clinical skills, and make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while enjoying the flexibility of travel nursing. You will work with cutting-edge EMR systems, including Epic and Cerner, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver top-tier emergency medical services. Duties Assess patient conditions rapidly through comprehensive physical examinations and vital signs monitoring to determine priority of care. Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols. Manage airway patency using advanced airway management techniques and ventilator support when necessary. Perform emergency procedures such as suturing, tube feeding placement, and wound care to stabilize patients. Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate with physicians and specialists for diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, radiology (CT scans), sonography, and specimen collection/processing. Provide critical care support in Level I and Level II trauma centers, including trauma medicine, ICU experience, and acute pain management. Assist in discharge planning and patient education for post-emergency care, including hospice & palliative medicine when appropriate. Requirements Valid RN license in good standing with current state registration or compact license for multiple states. Proven ER experience in a hospital setting with familiarity in emergency medicine protocols and triage procedures. Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or trauma center background; Level I or Level II trauma center experience highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding is a plus. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to emergency nursing. Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining excellent patient assessment skills and attention to detail. Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is advantageous.
