Hospital Float Pool:

Full-time 3-12s, 9am to 9pm Two weekends per month Holidays on rotation Plant some roots and join the team!

JOB SUMMARY

Provide technical assistance with collecting, clarifying and documenting medication histories for new admissions to the hospital. Process, interpret and enter medication histories into a computerized system, including each medication identified (drug, dose, route, frequency, indication for PRN order, and last dose taken date and time). Clarify information through communication with providers, patients, care givers, family members, and pharmacies. Coordinate medication history assessment with the nursing team and staff pharmacists. Work under the supervision of Nursing Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum one year of nursing experience. Prior experience with medication reconciliation process may be used to reduce experience requirements. Current Oklahoma license to practice as a nurse. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with providers, patients, caregivers, family members and pharmacies. Demonstrated ability to conduct medication history interviews and reviews, and ability to complete an accurate patient medication profile. Will be interviewed jointly by ED Director and Nursing Administration. Possess the ability to communicate well with health care professions and general public. Ability to multi-task. Ability to work in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) patient medication history system. Current BLS card or completion within 30 days of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and dealing with stressful situations. Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses, to read and write. Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone. Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care. Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to operate equipment. Able to work in latex burdened environment.
