Hospital Float Pool:
Full-time days position 3-12s, 6:30am to 7:00pm Two weekends per month Holidays on rotation Plant some roots and join the team!
JOB SUMMARY
A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse that delivers care to patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing for the age groups served. The resource/float nurse will be scheduled in advance for planned on various nursing units. The Resource/Float Nurses are scheduled through the nursing staffing office. The Float Nurse will be used for unplanned absences in various departments as needed The Float Nurses are scheduled through the nursing staffing office.
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Current CPR card or completion within 30 days of employment. 2 years of medical-surgical clinical experience preferred. Associate degree required BSN preferred. Must be flexible and willing to work various units as assigned by the house supervisor. ACLS is required within 6 months and PALS additionally is preferred. 1-year critical care experience is preferred. Successfully completes care competencies of all patient care areas where assignments are likely to occur.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and dealing with stressful situations. Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses, to read and write. Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to converse with others in person and over the phone. Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care. Able to frequently lift at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel. Possesses fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: insert catheters, start IVs, administer medications, and handle instruments).
