Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. This role involves working closely with patients undergoing various medical and surgical treatments, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their hospital stay.

Job Description:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols ofthe healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Complexity of Work:

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Unit Description:

This department is a 28 unit, serving Cardio Pulmonary adult patients and neuro overflow adult patients and does have cardiac telemetry and continuous pulse oximeter capabilities. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. The unit is also supported by PCTs and a Healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry.

E Medical Telemetry Skill:

RN Telemetry I Minimum Years of Experience:

1 Responsibilities Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, ensuring timely interventions as necessary. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Provide care for patients requiring tube feeding and ostomy care, demonstrating expertise in these areas. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Document patient information accurately in electronic health records, utilizing systems such as eClinicalWorks. Educate patients and their families on health management and post-discharge care instructions. Assist with the physical lifting and transferring of patients, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Experience Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Experience in acute care settings, particularly within a medical/surgical telemetry unit is preferred.. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly eClinicalWorks, is highly desirable.
