Job Description

Description PeaceHealth is seeking a RN - Foot Care for a Per Diem/Relief, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $50.89 - $76.33. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. Job Summary Provides professional nursing direct patient care for patients with foot care needs in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Provides both education and clinical interventions that promote patient independence and self-care. Essential Functions Provide routine foot care services to patients with high-risk foot conditions. Performs nail debridement and debulking, reduction of hyperkeratotic lesions and preventative management of recurrent foot issues. Use and knowledge of the podiatry drill. Assess patient and develop plan of care. Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards. Communicates with health care team to support case management of patients. Develops, delivers, and evaluates education programs for patients, staff and community. Serves as resource to physicians, staff and community. Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development. Product recommendation and involvement in committees and projects in area of expertise. Responsible for outpatient clinic services as they pertain to scheduling, treatment, billing and infection control. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor of Science Required:
Nursing or equivalent education and/or experience Minimum of 1 year
Required :
in an acute care facility or successful completion of a training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire and
Preferred:
Foot care experience and/or diabetic patient education

Certified Foot Care Specialist American Foot Care Nurses Association and Required:
Upon Hire Basic Life Support Skills Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required) Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required) Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications and other applicable clinical applications (Required) Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs (Required) Department /
Location Specific Notes Cottage Grove:
Foot care certification upon hire preferred. Preference may also be given to candidates who are willing to work shifts in the RN Wound Care Specialist job as well. Certified Wound Specialist (American Board of Wound Management), Wound Care Certified (National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy), or Certified Wound Care Nurse (Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board) required within 1.5 years to work as an RN Wound Care Specialist at PeaceHealth. Working Conditions Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts). Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally. Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently. Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
