12:00 pm - 12:30 am, three 12-hour shifts, variable scheduled days Your role with us As a clinical nurse in the emergency department at West Valley Hospital, you'll be at the forefront of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. You'll assess, plan, and implement care for patients with diverse and acute medical needs, while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Your clinical judgment, adaptability, and strong communication skills will be key to supporting patients and families during some of their most critical moments. You'll also contribute to safety, continuous improvement, and unit leadership to help elevate the overall standard of emergency care. You'll serve a geographically large region, supporting patients from across Marion and Polk Counties and as far as Lincoln City. Your role will be integral to helping our community receive the high-quality care they deserve and depend on. What you'll do Perform thorough and age-appropriate assessments and communicate findings to the healthcare team. Deliver safe and effective nursing interventions in alignment with evidence-based practices and hospital protocols. Develop and implement individualized care plans, including education and discharge planning. Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely manner. Communicate clearly and consistently using SBAR and other collaborative tools with team members and providers. Respond appropriately to emergency situations and proactively prevent adverse outcomes. Maintain a safe environment by following infection control practices and reporting hazards. Actively participate in shared governance, unit performance improvement, and staff education. Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, including patient assignments, staff supervision, and issue resolution. Assist with resource and supply management, float to other units when needed, and demonstrate flexibility in a team-based environment. Provide oversight and support to LPNs, CNAs, clinical techs, and other support personnel. Required qualifications Bachelor of Science (BSN) or Bachelor of Arts degree in nursing, or non-nursing bachelor's degree with a Master of Science in nursing (MSN). Candidates with an associate's degree in nursing (ADN) and graduates of a diploma RN program are also encouraged to apply; ADN applicants with less than five years of acute care experience will be required to sign an agreement committing to complete their BSN or MSN degree within three years of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS). Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon. Minimum of one year of RN staff nurse experience. Additional information Charge nurse experience preferred. Emergency setting experience preferred.
