We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join a busy regional hospital known for compassionate, high-quality patient care. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our medical-surgical unit, providing direct, hands-on care to a diverse patient population while collaborating closely with physicians, specialists, and allied health staff. This position plays an important role in our day-to-day operations, and we are looking for someone who combines technical skill with a strong work ethic, sound judgment, and genuine care for the quality of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments at the start of each shift, including vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition, and document findings accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments according to physician orders while strictly following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, ensuring treatment goals reflect each patient's evolving condition.
  • Monitor patients for changes in status, recognize early warning signs of deterioration, and escalate concerns promptly to the care team.
  • Educate patients and family members on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication regimens, and post-discharge self-care instructions.
  • Coordinate with case managers, social workers, and rehabilitation specialists to plan safe and timely discharges.
  • Assist with procedures such as wound care, catheter insertion, and specimen collection, maintaining strict infection-control standards.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing assistants and newly hired nurses, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous learning.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and ongoing professional development to maintain clinical excellence.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm and decisive in fast-paced or emergency situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and standard hospital equipment.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended shifts, including occasional twelve-hour rotations.
Work Environment:
You will work in a fast-paced inpatient unit alongside an experienced team of nurses, physicians, and support staff who value collaboration and mutual respect. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule, and the role requires the flexibility to respond to fluctuating patient volumes and acuity levels. Successful candidates will be comfortable adapting to a dynamic day-to-day routine, working both independently and as part of a coordinated team, and maintaining a professional, solutions-oriented attitude even when circumstances change unexpectedly.
Why Join Us:
We are committed to supporting our employees with ongoing training, mentorship, and clear paths for career growth.
