Are you a Registered Nurse looking to expand your clinical skills into cardiology and diagnostic testing? We are seeking an RN Stress Technician to join a collaborative cardiovascular team in a hospital setting. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Med/Surg nurses, telemetry nurses, or cardiac nurses who are interested in specializing in cardiac stress testing. Candidates with Med/Surg experience and exposure to stress testing, telemetry, ECG interpretation, or cardiac monitoring are encouraged to apply. The RN Stress Technician provides direct patient care and clinical support during cardiac and pulmonary stress testing procedures. This role combines nursing assessment, patient monitoring, and operation of diagnostic equipment to ensure safe and accurate testing.
What you will be doing:
Patient Assessment & Monitoring Perform pre-test assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and medication reconciliation Educate patients regarding testing procedures and expectations Prepare patients for exercise and pharmacologic stress testing Monitor ECG rhythms, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and overall patient status throughout testing Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including emergency situations Clinical & Technical Support Operate stress testing equipment including treadmills, bicycles, ECG systems, and monitoring devices Administer medications for pharmacologic stress testing in accordance with facility protocols and scope of practice Accurately document procedures and patient responses within the electronic medical record Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Team Collaboration Work closely with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff Communicate patient concerns and testing results effectively Support quality improvement initiatives and departmental education activities Assist with patient flow and scheduling to ensure efficient operations What you must have: Graduate of an accredited nursing program Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) License Current BLS Certification Current ACLS Certification Nice to have: Med/Surg, Telemetry, Cardiac, ICU, ED, or Progressive Care experience Experience with cardiac stress testing, ECG interpretation, or cardiopulmonary diagnostics Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
