Job Description

Department Overview This position is for a float within the Center for Women's Health (CWH) Department. A Registered Nurse working in the Center for Women's Health (CWH) is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and has the primary responsibility for, and provides, direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients. This includes representing the practice both in person and on the telephone, other OHSU departments, and non-OHSU facilities. This position also comes with great benefits!

  • 96 hours per year, prorated for part-time Substantial public transportation discounts (Tri-met and C-Tran) Tuition Reimbursement Innovative Employee Assistance Program (EAP) including extensive wellness resources Function/Duties of Position The Registered Nurse assesses patient and family needs, develops a plan of care, implements, and evaluates the care delivered.
The Registered Nurse is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence. The divisions within CWH that this nurse may work in include, but are not limited to, Perinatology, Fertility, Urogynecology, and Reproductive psychiatry. Procedures completed include, but are not limited to, medication administration, in-person patient education, post-partum visits, post-operative wound assessment and care, minimal sedation.
  • Ability to maintain a smooth operation of the entire practice, using problem-solving and decision-making combined with sound clinical judgments.
  • Assists provider with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and treatments as needed in the clinic.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations. Understands the procedures for medical emergencies, as well as other disaster situations.

  • Excellent leadership skills Required Qualifications 1-year phone triage experience 1-year experience in ambulatory women's health or reproductive endocrinology
BSN Graduates:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.
ADN Graduates:
Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date. Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse Licensecurrent Washington license or apply for Washington RN License by the end of the orientation period BLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled and required to complete during orientation. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-years' experience or more in reproductive endocrinology
  • 2-years or more phone triage experience
  • 2-years' experience or more in ambulatory women's health
  • Experience using EPIC Additional Details Length of Orientation
  • Experienced Nurse External candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week.
Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Specialty Fellowship/Fellowship Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for 3 days-26 weeks depending on the care area.
