Job Description

THIS IS AN LPN OPPORTUNITY
Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care within a correctional healthcare environment, delivering medical services to incarcerated individuals under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. The LPN is responsible for medication administration, routine assessments, treatment implementation, documentation, and supporting the safety and security standards of the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols. Monitor and assess inmate/patient health status and report significant findings to the RN or provider. Assist with intake screenings, sick call evaluations, chronic care monitoring, and emergency response. Provide wound care, vital sign monitoring, specimen collection, and basic nursing procedures. Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation and medication administration records (MARs). Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and behavioral health crises within the correctional setting. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, and correctional staff to coordinate patient care. Ensure compliance with infection control procedures, safety standards, and correctional healthcare policies. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality while working in a secure environment. Participate in health education and support for patients with chronic medical or mental health conditions. Qualifications Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the applicable state. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program. CPR/BLS certification preferred. Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to function effectively within a secure correctional environment. Experience in corrections, behavioral health, emergency care, long-term care, or medical-surgical nursing preferred. #
PVDR Pay:
$30.00 - $33.00 per hour
