Grade 28, Contract Position Position Summary The Health Bureau is seeking an experienced and motivated Community Health Nurse Supervisor to lead and oversee critical public health programs serving our community. This professional nursing role provides leadership, coordination, and supervision of clinical services, including STD/HIV, Tuberculosis (TB), Family Planning, Immunizations, and Maternal & Child Health programs . Working closely with the Nursing Director, this position plays a key role in strengthening program performance, expanding access to care, and improving population health outcomes. What You'll Do Provide leadership and operational oversight for public health clinics and programs Supervise, mentor, and support nursing and clinical staff Coordinate daily clinic operations, including mobile health initiatives Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and procedures Monitor population health data and conduct epidemiological surveillance Oversee electronic health records and reporting systems (EPIC, PA-NEDSS, PIERS, Arc
GIS, SAMS/EDN
) Manage insurance billing processes and ensure accuracy and compliance Conduct chart audits and evaluate clinical outcomes Lead maternal and child health initiatives to improve birth and child health outcomes Manage grants, budgets, and reporting requirements Collaborate with community partners, healthcare providers, and agencies Support onboarding, training, and professional development of staff Represent the Health Bureau at community meetings and outreach events Participate in emergency response operations when activated
What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain) 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience (public health preferred) Prior supervisory or leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of public health nursing and communicable disease control Experience with maternal and child health programs Familiarity with electronic health records and insurance billing Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to analyze data and generate reports Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems
Additional Requirements:
CPR certification Valid Pennsylvania driver's license Ability to obtain required criminal background and child abuse clearances Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends for community events or emergencies Why Join Us?
