Correctional Nurse Shift - 2nd Shift Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Correctional Nurse to join our healthcare team within a correctional facility environment. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated individuals, ensuring their health and safety while adhering to strict security protocols. Duties Conduct thorough health assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews for inmates upon intake and during ongoing care. Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following proper aseptic techniques and medication protocols. Manage urgent medical situations such as acute pain, trauma incidents, or infectious disease outbreaks with prompt triage and intervention. Document all patient interactions accurately within EHR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and case managers to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each inmate's needs. Educate inmates on health maintenance, medication adherence, and disease prevention strategies while respecting confidentiality and dignity.
