Job Description

Cardiovascular Experts of PA is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in both the clinical and procedural settings while supporting physicians and staff in delivering excellent cardiovascular services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess and monitor patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery or pre/post-operative care, including vital signs, symptom assessment, and hemodynamic stability. Assist in perioperative procedures, perform catheterization support, IV insertions, and patient positioning as needed. Administer medications and therapies per physician orders, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain sterile technique. Provide patient education and discharge planning, including post-operative care and wound/line care instructions. Collaborate with surgeons, cardiology team, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes and ensure smooth workflow. Perform patient assessments prior to nuclear stress testing, including review of medical history, medications, allergies, and contraindications. Educate patients on stress testing procedures, potential risks, and post-test care instructions to ensure informed participation. Prepare and monitor patients undergoing exercise and pharmacologic stress tests in collaboration with cardiologists and nuclear medicine staff. Conduct clinical assessment of patient concerns via telephone using evidence-based triage protocols. Determine urgency of symptoms and provide appropriate guidance, including home care instructions, same-day appointments, or emergency care recommendations. Document patient interactions, symptom descriptions, clinical advice, and follow-up plans in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers to relay patient concerns and obtain care recommendations when necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania. Current ACLS and BLS certification required. Working knowledge of nursing practice in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative spaces in an ambulatory surgery center, cardiac cath lab, and/or operating room setting required Excellent communication skills; oral, written and presentation. Demonstrates accountability, skill and knowledge to practice within scope of position responsibilities. Demonstrates an above average ability to organize, prioritize, analyze, anticipate, interpret, evaluate and problem solve to provide a safe, effective, functional environment. Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and other position specific software Energetic leader with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Excellent bedside manner and communication skills with patients and families. Having a positive outlook and a strong sense of advocacy is in perfect step with our mission and vision. Minimum One (1) year of ambulatory surgery center and/or cardiac cath lab experience as a registered nurse (perferred) Previous cardiovascular experience Unafraid to do a little extra to deliver world class care. Promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic and commitment to ongoing staff education and training. Proficiency in clinical management of complex patients. Strong ability to use electronic health records in support of patient care delivery. Understanding of the latest evidence based cardiovascular disease treatments.
