Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as an Infection Prevention Nurse (RN), where your expertise will be pivotal in safeguarding patient health and promoting a culture of safety. In this vital role, you will lead infection control initiatives, monitor compliance with health standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Your proactive approach and clinical knowledge will help ensure our facility maintains the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and patient care. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention policies and procedures aligned with current public health guidelines and regulatory standards. Conduct comprehensive data collection and management related to infection rates, compliance audits, and outbreak investigations. Monitor patient care practices to ensure adherence to aseptic techniques, OSHA regulations, and HIPAA privacy laws. Educate staff on infection control protocols, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), sanitation procedures, and microbiology principles. Review medical records and documentation to identify trends, support care plans, and facilitate continuous quality improvement efforts. Lead investigations into infection outbreaks or incidents, coordinating with epidemiology experts and managing containment strategies. Oversee staff training programs focused on infection prevention, public health best practices, and anatomy/physiology knowledge essential for patient safety. Qualifications Valid RN license with active registration in good standing. Long Term Care experience preferred Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams or projects related to healthcare quality improvement. Familiarity with data management systems such as MDS (Minimum Data Set), medical records review, and documentation review processes.
