Location:
DuBois, PA — Hospital-based oncology clinic. Locum tenens opportunity with scheduled clinical coverage only; ASAP start for 6 months with potential extension.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts).
Coverage blocks:
05/26-05/29, 06/01-06/05, 06/08-06/12, 06/22-06/26, 06/29-07/03.
Clinical scope:
Manage an adult and geriatric oncology/hematology panel (average daily census 12-15). Responsibilities include new patient evaluations (oncology and hematology), inpatient consults, cancer diagnosis and staging, and treatment planning and administration (chemotherapy and immunotherapy). Bone marrow biopsies may be referred to Interventional Radiology. Environment & systems: Hospital bed size ~219-228.
EMRs:
ONCO (clinic) and Cerner (hospital).
Support team:
Director of Oncology & Infusion Services, Clinical RN Supervisor, Support Staff Supervisor, 8 oncology RNs, 2 nurse navigators, 4 medical assistants, 7 clerical staff, financial navigator, 2 authorization assistants, billing/coding director, pharmacist, clinical pharmacist, and pharmacy RN tech.
Qualifications:
Board certified in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology. Active state license preferred; Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) considered. DEA and CSR required. BLS and ACLS required. Minimum of 1 year post-training experience.
