Job Description
R.B. Wiley Community Charter School is seeking a qualified and compassionate Part-Time School Nurse for the 2026-2027 academic year. The School Nurse will provide healthcare support and medical assistance to school-age students while maintaining a safe and healthy school environment. Responsibilities include addressing routine student health concerns, responding to medical emergencies, and supporting student wellness throughout the school day.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Compensation:
$22.00 - $25.00
Per Hour Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years of related nursing experience preferred Current LPN Certification required RN License preferred School Nurse Certification preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties may include, but are not limited to: Conducting student hearing and vision screenings Educating students on hygiene, wellness, and safety practices Dispensing prescription medications in accordance with physician orders Reviewing and verifying student vaccination records Taking student temperatures and assessing symptoms when illness is suspected Administering first aid and CPR when necessary Treating minor injuries including cuts, scrapes, and bruises Monitoring students who visit the health office to determine if additional medical attention is required Stabilizing severely ill or injured students until parents/guardians or emergency medical personnel arrive Contacting parents or guardians regarding student illness, injury, or medical concerns Maintaining accurate and confidential student health records Collaborating with school staff to support student health and safety needs R.B.
