Preoperative/PACU Registered Nurse

Overview Vision One Laser and Surgery Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Preoperative/ Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform thorough preoperative assessments, including patient histories, medication reconciliation, and surgical site verification. Educate patients and families on the surgical process and postoperative expectations. Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery. Provide monitoring of patients emerging from anesthesia, assessing airway, vital signs, pain, and surgical sites. Administer medications, manage IVs, and provide critical interventions when necessary. Document all care provided accurately and promptly. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other interdisciplinary team members. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

Current and unrestricted RN license in PA Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required). Minimum 1 year of nursing experience Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
