RN01 Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities Duties:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the perioperative setting. Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies. Verify patient identity, procedure, surgical site, and consent documentation. Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection prevention standards. Serve as a circulating and/or scrub nurse as appropriate. Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures and accurately document care. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies. Respond promptly to emergency situations and assist with necessary life-saving interventions. Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative care. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
