The Compliance and Quality Nurse Specialist is the clinical person responsible for the compliance, quality and education programs within the Visiting Nurse Association of Indiana County. The position includes oversight of licensure, outcomes reporting, participation in various committees, and clinical audits related to home health and hospice services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Compliance and Quality Nurse Specialist Position:

Registered nurse with a valid Pennsylvania license, BSN recommended Five [5] years' experience in home health and/or hospice management Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Evidence of leadership activities Reliable, independent means of transportation for use in community activities. Driver must have a valid driver's license with car insurance at the limits established in the personnel policies. What you will do in the Compliance and Quality Nurse Specialist position: Primary point of contact for compliance concerns reported from employees within the organization. Lead contact/organizer for Department of Health surveys for agency, including mock surveys Update and train staff in Disaster Preparedness Plan Analyze, report, and collaborate with clinical departments to improve SHP outcomes, home health and hospice compare outcomes, and HHCAPS/Hospice CAHPS outcomes Chair the Corporate Compliance Committee, which includes planning and organizing all meetings and required materials. Coordinates with the Ethics Committee Assist in the development of administrative and operating policies and procedures, reviewing existing policies and procedures, at least, annually and revising accordingly with the collaboration of management Review requests for patient health records with summary to the Executive Director and general counsel as appropriate Responsible for Event Reporting to the PA Department of Health. Oversees the Infection Control Program for the agencies Assist with audit appeals in a collaborative effort Responsible for developing and implementing Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs and identifying and initiating Performance Improvement Projects (PIP) Organize and perform clinical audits with reports to clinical leadership Participates in onboarding and training of new employees Develops ongoing education for staff to meet all regulatory requirements as well as education when areas of concern are identified Maintains confidentiality of patient and staff information This position offers a competitive salary and benefit package.
