Position Description:
The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time General Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join their Team. As part of a highly productive cardiology group consisting of 30 physicians and 28 nurse practitioners, our General Cardiology nurse practitioner team rounds on the inpatient service and sees outpatients in the office setting. This role would be mostly inpatient with some outpatient video visits in the afternoon from the hospital. Right now, video visits are once a week but there are plans to expand this.
A typical weekday would be:
10am-1pm - help finish rounds, assign consultations, answer pages. From 1pm-4pm - video visits or help with consults. Then from 5pm-10pm - answer IP and OP pages, respond to emergencies on the floors & ICU and respond to Code Rs. Occasional consultations and admission. Our nurse practitioners enjoy collaborative practice with a high degree of autonomy. NPs play an important role assisting in rounds and consults at the hospital. By using our team-based approach to cardiology care, we have enjoyed a historic low in readmission rates.
Hours:
This position is full-time, 7on/7off schedule with hours from 10am-10pm . The work week would run from Friday to Thursday.
Position Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required - this position requires Adult/ Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification. Minimum one-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred Why Penn Medicine?
