We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Hospice Director of Nursing (DON) who is passionate about leadership, clinical excellence, and building a supportive environment for both patients and staff. Position Overview The Director of Nursing will oversee all clinical operations of our hospice program, ensuring patients receive exceptional care while supporting and mentoring our dedicated clinical team. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who leads with both confidence and compassion and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of hospice care. Responsibilities Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing and clinical staff Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on compassionate patient care Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure quality care delivery Ensure compliance with Medicare, state, and hospice regulatory standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care Support staff development through mentoring, coaching, and education Monitor clinical documentation and quality assurance initiatives Participate in IDT, hiring, training, and retention of clinical team members Assist with on-call support and clinical oversight as needed Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [State] Minimum 3 years of hospice experience with leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong understanding of hospice regulations and clinical standards Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care Ability to inspire, motivate, and support clinical teams Preferred Qualifications BSN preferred Hospice or palliative care certification preferred Experience with hospice EMR systems and regulatory compliance What We Offer Competitive salary Health, dental, and vision benefits Paid time off and holidays Supportive leadership team Opportunities for professional growth and development Meaningful work that makes a difference every day Why Safe Hands Hospice?
