Job Description
Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in an assisted living facility is responsible for delivering high-quality, resident-centered care while promoting independence, dignity, and well-being. This role includes clinical oversight, care coordination, medication management, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure residents receive appropriate and compassionate care in accordance with South Dakota regulations.Key Responsibilities:
Assess residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs; develop and update individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and state guidelines. Monitor residents' health status and respond promptly to changes in condition. Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, families, and other healthcare professionals. Supervise and delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and facility policies. Provide health education to residents and their families. Participate in care conferences and quality assurance activities. Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe environment. Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care.Qualifications:
Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Dakota. Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required). Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or geriatrics preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Certifications & Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required). CPR certification (required). Knowledge of South Dakota assisted living regulations and standards preferred.Work Environment:
Primarily in an assisted living facility setting. May require standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents with mobility. Flexible scheduling may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.Compensation & Benefits:
