Registered Nurse for Assisted Living Powell Valley Assisted Living Gresham, OR Job Details Full-time $90,000 - $120,000 a year 7 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance Flexible schedule Life insurance Qualifications Nursing RN License Team development Hiring Quality assurance Full Job Description General Description of the position: The Director of Health Services is responsible for scheduling of health care staff; coordinating all health care services provided to residents by health care staff; promoting the health and well being of each resident; and reporting observed changes in resident condition or health to the licensed staff nurse and the Executive Director.
Essential functions:
Budgetary:
 Budget development and implementation of costs controls.  Generate revenue for care services provided to residents. Ensure the residents are properly billed for the level of care provided. Facilitate Professional Growth and Self-Improvement for
Self and Staff:
 Develop and/or conduct staff in-service programs.  Read and study materials that will broaden knowledge and experience.  Act as part of the management team.  Oversee and ensure completion of state required, staff related documentation and forms.  Administer corporate policies and procedures.  Give recognition and affirmation appropriately.  Generate enthusiasm and a spirit of cooperation.  Establish standards of performance.  Develop a climate of trust, respect, and fair treatment  Facilitate and encourage creativity and vision by staff.  Be prepared to provide staffing coverage in the event of staff shortages or outages.  Read communication log and communicate with health services staff daily.  Participate in community meetings. Attend weekly Team Leader meetings, monthly resident forum, and monthly staff meetings. Special training sessions and any seminars related to health services that would be beneficial to your growth.  Prepare staff trainings in accordance to State Regulations.  Conduct quality control inspections to assure proper care is provided to the resident.  Conduct quality control inspections in the med rooms to assure regulations and cleanliness are maintained.  Facilitate and practice Company's policies and procedures on hiring, disciplinary actions and firing of employees. Resident Care  Establish the appropriate level of care for the resident.  Communicate with the RN to assure resident's needs are met.  Serve as liaison between facility, resident, resident's family and appropriate medical personnel.  Assist community to problem solve when change in resident's health status occurs.  Coordinate with other community health care professionals, such as the home health agency, to acquire use of their expertise when necessary.  Conduct periodic re-assessments of the resident's health needs by way of Services Plans and Evaluations.  Facilitate weekly sheets and meetings.  Monitor status of resident's health condition and initiate actions in response to changing needs.  Provide staff training for establishing proper plan of action and documentation when injury occurs.  Monitors infection control programs, specifically recognizing patterns of nosocomial (in-house) infections and their potential to spread.  Effective communication with Health Services team, Executive Director, contact with Management Company as the need arises.  Audit medical administrative paperwork on a routine basis.  Review orders from physicians to assure proper dose and administration and treatments are followed.  Fill out incident reports as necessary.  Be prepared, unless otherwise decided, to take off-hour telephone calls from staff.  Provide monthly service plan charges and changes to the Management Company.
