Job Summary Provide safe and effective nursing care as assigned to our congenital and acquired heart disease patients, ranging in age from newborn to adulthood. This position supports the division of Pediatric Cardiology, providing flexible coverage and assistance with the increasing work of the nurses in the department.
This work includes:
Pre and post procedural care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and/or electrophysiology procedure, administering medication and providing vital sign and EKG monitoring for chemical stress testing, and triage support for pediatric cardiology patients. Family centered care is provided in collaboration with all members of the health care team in this highly specialized population. Candidate must be a team player who is highly motivated to provide excellent care in a highly technical environment. Required Qualifications
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan Minimum of two (2) years recent (within the last 18 months) Moderate Care RN or Critical Care RN experience to include caring for Pediatric patients with Congenital Heart disease or Minimum of (3) years recent (within the last 18 months) Pediatric PACU experience Demonstrated understanding of common congenital heart defects and indicated surgical correction.
PALS certification within 6 months of hire
  • This position requires standing/walking/positioning/pulling/lifting of patients and objects for long periods of time.
