Shift:
Full Time (36hrs) - Weekends 1p-1a When you choose the full-service Emergency Room at Sentara Independence, you can count on... 24/7 access to board-certified emergency physicians and quality nurses. Skill, caring staff with a focus on outstanding service and a commitment to treating each patient quickly and expertly. New family-friendly waiting room that is larger, quieter and more comfortable. Private rooms for patient care equipped with new state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring equipment. Minor care treatment area designed for quick treatment and release. On-site X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT and MRI Imaging services to support our emergency patients' needs. Support from local Emergency Medical Services ambulance teams and Nightingale, Sentara's regional air ambulance, for patients needing transfer to a higher level of care. Sentara Independence has board-certified emergency physicians teaming up with quality nurses and Sentara staff to deliver expert emergency care to residents of the Independence corridor. Our Emergency Room provides a safe and comfortable atmosphere for all patients.
Job Description:
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Education:
ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.
Certification:
Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing. Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire. All Direct Care RNs required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
Experience:
RN experience in a hospital setting ED experience preferred
