Previous experience may be required. Employment commitment to Samaritan is required. This position offers a dynamic and flexible work environment across the pre-op, intra-op, and PACU phases of care. Staff in this role will work variable shifts with start times ranging between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., supporting patient flow throughout the perioperative continuum. Scheduling is designed to promote work-life balance, with assignments posted five weeks in advance to allow for planning. This role also includes rotational call responsibilities, averaging approximately 4-5 call days per month.
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Ambulatory Surgery provides pre, intra and post op care to surgical and procedural sedation patients. We provide service for the patient population of pediatrics, adolescents, adult and elderly patients. We work with a variety of provider specialties in caring for people going home that day or are being admitted to the hospital.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire.
PCH Surgery Ambulatory:
ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
