JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION GSRMC IV
Therapy provides care 24/7 by Registered Nurses with specialty training and/or certification in Infusion Therapy. IV RN's are specialists in core areas of infusion therapy practice: technology and clinical applications, fluid and electrolyte balance, pharmacology, infection prevention and control, special populations, transfusion therapy, antineoplastic/biologic therapy, and parenteral nutrition. Care is provided to both inpatients and outpatients of all ages within the hospital.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
GSR Vascular Access Team :
One (1) year medical/surgical nursing experience preferred. Previous experience in IV therapy preferred. Certification in IV therapy (C.R.N.I.) preferred.
